CURRENT MISSION

I am on a mission to discover the life that I want to live. I struggle to balance my love for academia and nature and want to see how other people balance their passions.

ABOUT ME

I am a 20 year old male from San Francisco, CA, USA who is currently in his third year at Haverford College but is abroad studying in Lund, Sweden for a semester. I am majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computer Science and Physics. I love spending time solving math problems and in my spare time I dream about the outdoors. I go hiking or exploring wilderness when I can - usually on breaks - and my dream is to be a professor of Mathematics in a small college town in the mountains (somewhere like Montana, Idaho, Colorado) and to have a cabin lost in the woods.

PHILOSOPHY

On my free time I read and think about what love and happiness mean to me. I have recently decided that my routine life was boring and impulsively dropped my Physics major, quit my school's Cross Country team, decided to study abroad, and quit my long-time addiction of video games. Since then, I have enjoyed studying pure math, reading books, exploring my surroundings, traveling, and meeting all kinds of new people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very new to Couch Surfing and decided to check out the community after my uncle told me he had hosted hundreds of people in his San Francisco apartments. Because of strict college dorm rules, I can not currently host but I plan to host when I begin graduate studies.

My favorite books are Brave New World, On The Road, and Born To Run. I enjoy dystopian and utopian literature as well as books about isolation and loneliness.

Probably the most amazing thing I have done is to have worked directly on D-Wave's Quantum Computer (possibly the only undergraduate to have done so?).

I am an aspiring mathematician with experience in Physics, Engineering, and Computer Science. I love talking about specific scientific topics or the field in general. My current research interests are in Topology, Number Theory, and Knot Theory but love talking about pure math of all kinds.
