About Me

Hey hey, I'm a 22 year old British guy travelling for the next 8 months... I'm born and raised in London but my parents are from London and Nigeria.

Am halfway through my medical degree and am travelling around this year as a much needed break from uni stress. I started my trip in Phillipines, before hitch-hiking my way from the very top to the very bottom of New Zealand, and have now just spent the last 5 months in South and Central America I am a laid-back, positive and fun-loving fella... above anything else am just looking for similar people to hang with... back home I run an online vintage shop, and will be hoping to use my time in NY to explore some of your thrift shops.... good hosts can be promised a freebie !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being from London I know how hard it is to know what a city is like unless you know people there... I would love to get an insight into what it's like to live in NY, to see some of the local hangouts and to hit up some of the less touristy spots.

Interests

Pretty into my music. Absolutely love travelling unsurprisingly...

Big fan of sports (especially football and tennis) and am a water baby, anything that involves swimming I love !

But to be honest am very easy-going and can have fun doing almost anything. Whether it be going on a big night out or sitting round doing nothing, chatting, I'm happy to do it !

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise, a lot ... when I’m at home mainly 90s hip hop but also a big fan of soul, funk and Latin. Out and about it’s mostly house and techno !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to decide, but it's gotta be the time I kicked a piece of gum into a bin from 20m away. Proudest moment of life so far.

In all seriousness though... Before this trip the best thing I'd done is spent 5 days sailing round deserted San Blas islands. We would spend all day at a deserted Caribbean island snorkelling in the surrounding coral reefs and catching lobster by hand or cracking open coconuts and filling them with rum ... It was a dream come true.

Having just finished my travels though, it's next to impossible to decide what the best thing I've done it is. I've camped out in the Amazon jungle, spearfished in it's river, lost myself in Rio Carnival, walked over 110km in 5 days along the Salkantay Trek to Machu Pichu without a guide, scuba dived with turtles and so many sardines that they eclipse the sun when your'e beneath them, snorkelled with sharks surrounded by jellyfish etc. etc. I promise I've got some good stories to share

Teach, Learn, Share

I am learning Spanish and Igbo (my Dad's Nigerian language) so if hosts speak either of those that would be ideal !

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pretty decent chef if I may say so myself. Back in London my house whips up weekly Sunday roast dinners so I would love to cook one up for whoever is kind enough to host me. If roasts aren't your thing, I make mean Thai stir-fries and risottos.

London is a bit of a joke price-wise. So, when I eventually get home I'd be more than happy to have you to stay for as long as you'd like. My place is in Elephant & Castle (nice and central) and I'd be happy to show you all my insider tips on how to have a banging and cheap time in London !
