I grew up in rural Nebraska and am finishing up my undergraduate degree in May of 2018. I study sociology and speech communication. I'm heading to Illinois to visit SIU and ISU over spring break to check out the campuses for graduate study. I've studied abroad in both Taiwan and China. Each person has their own reason for traveling, for me I seek to develop an understanding of people from all around the world. Creating connections with others is at the core of my desire to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling allows me to see the world, and not having come from a middle class home, couch surfing allows me to see new places and get a real idea of how locals actually live. Challenging my cultural perceptions opened my eyes to the humility of traveling and doing so has been the most rewarding part of my life.
