Why I’m on Couchsurfing

You never know what you can learn from other people and how they can inspire you, and vice versa. I like the openness. Opening your door to someone and having a door opened for you just because one can.

I couchsurfed in Svalbard, Bosnia&Hercegovina, Macedonia, Italy, France, Bulgaria, England. I try to host when possible.

Interests

As anyone on couchsurfing, I like travelling. Throughout my studies I managed to travel a fair bit, a lot of my recent trips were to learn more about landscapes and environments. I tend to prefer exploring natural environment when I travel. That is not to say that I'm not interested in new cultures and people. And this is why couchsurfing is great, as you learn about a country through its people. I usually get quickly tired of wondering around city attractions.
I developed a thing for cold and extreme places, and frontier towns.
Currently I'm exploring the beauty of Scotland and I'd like to tour around as many Scottish islands as possible. One day, sooner rather than later I'd like to go for a big adventure.

I like mountains and everything outdoorsy, I do hiking and a bit of climbing and skiing. I would like to get into mountain biking, winter climbing and I would like to learn to sail.

I like good beer, in Sheffield became a fan of Ale. I like having a pint with good company in small pubs with atmosphere. And I like whisky. And good food, trying new foods, and most of the time cooking too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitch-hiking and sleeping rough trip around the Balkan countries. It changed my perspective.
Every time I sleep under the stars and can drink water from a spring is an amazing thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you something about glaciers, some Slovak - apparently one of the most difficult languages to learn, I can cook some Slovak (or other) food for you.
