About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Show travelers the "off the beaten" Peru

ABOUT ME

After working in the Travel Industry for 5 years, we moved to New York City to pursue our master studies. Dani is studying Creative Writing in Spanish, and I (Hernan) am studying Interactive Thinking, both at NYU.

We currently live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, in a tiny little studio. That's why we can't host anybody during this time, but we're definitely going to be active CS hosters again as soon as we get back to our beloved Barranco house !

We've traveled pretty much everywhere throughout Peru, since both of us are travel journalists: Dani writes, I make the photos :) We have also visited other countries, always looking for long stays on very unusual destinations such as Iran, Mozambique, and rural Japan.

PHILOSOPHY

Always be generous, as much as you can !!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Cria Cuervos (Carlos Saura), Samaritan Girl (Kim Ki Duk), The Bow (Kim Ki Duk), The Piano (Jane Campion), The Lover (Jean Jaques Annaud), The Celebration (Tomas Vitemberg), Breaking the Waves (Von Trier), El Hijo de la Novia (Campanella), Los Lunes al Sol (León de Aranoa),
Amantes del Círculo Polar (Julio Medem), A Woman under the Influence (John Cassavetes)....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia, watching northern lights in Norway, reading Latin American fiction novels such as Conversation in the Cathedral or the House of the Spirits, traveling among the Amazonas River from its source to its delta with my best friend Mario Camilo, watching inspiring movies such as those from Kiewslosky or Tarkowsky, surfing in the islands of Mentawai, hitchhiking with my friends when we were 16 in the south of Chile..... but probably what I enjoy the most is just sharing simple moments with my parents, my brothers, my best friend and almost brother Camilo, and my extraordinary wife Daniela.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm... not sure what to write !
