If you're traveling in the US...
• with a layover of 5+ hours, exit the airport and go to the tourist desk. Ask for a shuttle to their favorite nearby hotel. Come back with enough time to catch your flight. Why sit at the airport when you can enjoy the gym, spa, pool, and maybe even the beach between flights?
• with large bags, go through security then "gate check" your bag to avoid pesky baggage fees.
