About Me

"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering - these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love - these are what we stay alive for."

"When you tell them that you have made a new friend, they never ask you any questions about essential matters. They never say to you, "What does his voice sound like? What games does he love best? Does he collect butterflies?" Instead, they demand: "How old is he? How many brothers has he? How much does he weigh? How much money does his father make?" Only from these figures do they think they have learned anything about him."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find couchsurfing a great way to meet new people and get to know a place in a more personal way. I have always found that the best way learning about a country and its culture is by meeting local people and listening to their stories. I have couchsurfed a few times and have very good memories, met wonderful people some of whom I am friends with today. Although unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to host for now, I like meeting travellers and showing them around.
