About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be in the world on my own two feet
ABOUT ME
I'm a tall, funny, smart & creative weirdo. I love my cat, I love the world, I love the feeling of terrified exhilaration I get when I'm facing something new and strange.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in kindness, empathy, and thoughtful action.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have just begun here on the CS Project. I hope to meet lots of great people, offer up my couch for anyone visiting fabulous Portland, OR (the best place in the USA to live, in my opinion), and find places to stay on my travels that are outside of ordinary.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My favorite couch surfing experience (long before this website was in existence) is when I went to LadyFest Midwest (a punk-style, woman-centered music and arts festival) in Chicago. I posted on a bulletin board that I needed a place to stay, and ended up becoming very close, life-long friends with the group of people I stayed with. We went to shows together, made breakfast together, and a year later they all moved to my city!
Interests
Reading excellent books, painting & drawing, performance art, bicycling, exploring everything & finding adventure, music, comic books, art in any form, great food, great conversation. And puppets!

Music, Movies, and Books
Oh dear, I love so many...
Music: Bluegrass (Avett Brothers), classical, soul, 60's psychadelica, experimental (Moondog), modern electronic (Daft Punk, Beck, Ladytron), alternative orchestral pop (Arcade Fire). So many more!
Movies: If Robert Ebert likes it, I like it.
Books: Right now I'm reading a Joyce Carol Oates novel, a comic book by Lynda Barry, a guide from 1949 on mixing good cocktails, and an instructive manual on whole-foods eating.
