ABOUT ME

My name is Hessel, I have lived in Asia for a large part of my youth. Grew up in Indonesia, Palembang and the capital city of Jakarta. Moved to the Netherlands when Indonesia got politically unstable. Currently I'm living in Maastricht, Which is located in the south of The Netherlands.

I mostly work as a barkeeper, saving up money for my own travels. Besides that I enjoy photography, making music, playing in bands and doing all things good in life :-)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I created this profile back in 2008 already, but hadn't used it since then. Up until 2014 I've only 'surfed' once, and that was in Rotterdam. I really want to participate more on couchsurfing, as both a surfer and host!

From Oktober 2014 and onwards I would like to be able to also host!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

2008 - Rotterdam
Surfed for a night to visit the Motel Mozaique festival.

2014 - Tonsai, Thailand.
Traveled here with my girlfriend, whom I previously had met indirectly through couchsurfing in Bangkok. Stayed in a bungalow though.

2014 - Hong Kong.
Surfed for 3 nights in Mui Wo (Lantau island), had a great time there. Hiked from Big Buddha to Tai O. Also met up with a few travelers and local couchsurfers in different areas of Hong Kong city.

Currently I'm very much into murakami. Very fond of my bible-like print of 1Q84! My musical taste is quite diverse, as a musican I mainly create alternative rock but as a listener I can enjoy anything from Jazz to Hiphop. I have a small record collection that has quite a few styles in there.
