About Me

Now, I am working and living in the rural area of Hangzhou, a place called Liangzhu Cultural New Town(良渚文化村), very far away from down town and the West Lake, maybe 2-hour bus ride.

Here is a community established by the property company Vanke, which tries to merge cilvil life with nature. There are many trees and parks around, as well as musuem, art center and church.

I am now working at REYI International Youth Hostel locating in the center of Liangzhu New Town. I love the natual evironment here, and luckily I also love my work.

What makes this hostel different is that its architectural transformation and design exudes austere, high-quality and international atmosphere. During the transformation, they not only try their best to merge all the original designs and materials, but also use the recycle and renewable sources. Hot water is supported by clean energy, and rainwater is recycled to flush the toilets. Empty wine bottles have been adapted to be lamps. Disused concrete was remade into book shelves.

Since I live with my collegue, we don't have much room for couchsurfers. While, I do like to meet travellers from other places. If you have a chance to come to Liangzhu Cultural New Town, I would love to show you around!

The Liangzhu Cultural New Town is in the rural area of Hangzhou, no skyscrapers, no big crowds, no colorful night life. But it has high-quality life facilities, such as supermarket, food alley, arts center and villager’s library. It is developed by a property company, who aims to create a modern civil life in a natural landscape. So , you can witness a new lifestyle here, and get to know the story of how the modern villagers try to build a community by themselves, which is also very rare in China.
