About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet friendly folk, here there and everywhere!

ABOUT ME

They say curiosity killed the cat. But I like to think the poor cat died richly in death - satisfied.

From that belief, you should be able to ascertain two things - I'm a cat person (although to be fair to dogs, we used to have two at home!) as well as a naturally curious person. I will go "awwww" at your pet and baby pictures.

I've been really fortunate to have been able to travel in my life, and after Europe 2012 and Couchsurfing, safe to say, it's now my favourite style of traveling, due to the amazing people I've had the good fortune of meeting and helped enrich my travels. Be it local treks or pottering around in Amsterdam for the day, I'm grateful for the positivity I've been able to be a part of. There have also been some pretty amazing CS adventures in Sept and Oct 2014 as I made the States my backyard.

As you'll read more, I'm incredibly passionate about movies and tv but when I'm not vegetating in front of my laptop, hiking is a growing favourite.

PHILOSOPHY

Full eyes, clear hearts, can't lose.

Tragedy and comedy are but two aspects of what is real, and whether we see the tragic or the humorous is a matter of perspective - Arnold Beisser

Interests

If I remembered pop culture trivia half as well as I remembered my studies from school, I would have been a far better student!

As it is, I enjoy movies (horror, ZOMBIES, and sci-fi, while I continue the quest for a non-cringe worthy rom com), snowboarding, tennis, music (indie, rock, and top 40, the only genre I can't appreciate is hard trance and most country), reading, writing, understanding religion and digital media.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Terminator 2, Shaun of the Dead, Amelie, Almost Famous, Attack the Block, Sixteen Candles, Battle Royale, anything Joss Whedon/John Hughes/Christopher Nolan/Rian Johnson does.

Music: Coldplay, Garbage, The Futureheads, Third Eye Blind, Weezer (though 'Make Believe' was horrid). But if I could only listen to one band, it'd be forever more, The Beatles.

Books: Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray - KIDDING! Blech. Actually it's It by Stephen King. This Much I Know is True by Wally Lamb. And Alan Moore's, Watchmen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled Costa Rica for a month in 2008. Skydived in New Zealand. Bungee jumped in Bangkok. These are but check marks off a list, but I hope for many more amazing experiences to come.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been the guide for a number of international media doing travel pieces on KL.

I can also teach you how to throw a punch! And well, taking one.. which just basically means standing there with arms by your side :P Otherwise, I speak Malay, bad Mandarin and I can help you sort out your wardrobe - no really, friends call me The Great Cull since I'm always telling them to quit hoarding.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
