我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

When I was little, about 9 yo, there was this failing reality TV show in Israel, couch-surfers. Some “celebrities” I didn’t even know, that literally just documented their couchsurfing experiences.

I was captivated. I felt an unsettling feeling of just wanting to get up and do something.

What I felt for “couch-surfers” required to have some patience. So I waited, grew up, got a remote job, and went on my first adventure.

I had doubts about committing to the original site at first, and I found a nice alternative - BeWelcome. After checking prices, I decided on going to Paris. It wasn’t so long ago - January 2025.

I was terrified.

And that was the best travelling experience I’ve had in my life.

The people that hosted me were the main reason for the success of this trip.

My first host, Claude - I think he is the nicest living French old man living in Paris. Till now, every few weeks he texts me to see how I’m doing. We had dinners together, worked in his garden, heard French music in the living room and talked.

Second host, Antoine - a host that became a good friend. We went to live jazz and rock concerts, cooked together, thrift shopped!, cycled and ate many sweet things. I have no doubt we’ll meet and travel together again.

Third host, Anna - a short yet unique stay that taught me a lot about trust. Me and Anne had one night together, and she trusted me enough after that to leave me alone at her apartment the next night. Just gave me her keys, together with the keys to her bicycle. I was amazed. Other than that, Anna invited me to join a fencing class she was giving, which was another experience I’ll never forget.

I got home after that trip, and felt like I discovered something big. I had no doubt I need to register to couchsurfing, and start thinking about my next trip. So here I am!

And! I have no doubt that when I’ll have my own place, it will be open for other travelers. Right now as I live with family, hosting is more complicated.

About Music, Movies and Books - I’m always open to try anything. I don’t like to limit myself to specific genres.

But! Just to give you some more details -

Music: I do really enjoy Jazz, Indie and Rock. Hearing live music is one of my favourite hangouts. I used to work at a jazz bar in TLV, and I loved it.
Some of my favourites - The Doors, Mac DeMarco, Thelonious Monk, A Tribe Called Quest, Depeche Mode, and some Israeli artists you probably wouldn’t recognise haha.

If you have a Spotify account, massage me so we can do a Spotify Blend! I love discovering new music like that.

Movies: here I seriously don’t have specifics, though I’m passionate about film making and considering studying it in the future.

Books: My favourite author is Etgar Keret! And I love short stories in general. I read mostly in Hebrew, but also in English and Farsi.

First of all, I’m up to help with anything I know how to do. And if I don’t know how, I’m open to learn.

If you’re a climber, let’s go climbing! I worked as a climbing guide this summer (2025), so you can trust my belaying skills. We can also go bouldering of course.

I can teach you Hebrew or Farsi!

I can help with cooking or baking (though I’m not that good haha)

If you need a partner for a concert, or really any outdoor activity, I’m down.

I leave my plans very unplanned and flexible.
