Hi all, my name is Hiro. I am a PhD student in Sociology, living in Brooklyn. I am originally from Japan, a suburb town near Tokyo.
I am a pretty laid back person. I seem shy at first, but that's because I am learning my surroundings. Once I get to know you, I'll be more easy going.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've never heard of couchsurfing until a friend of mine recently told me that she hosted a surfer. I was impressed by the idea because it seemed to bring me new social/cultural experiences and broaden my social world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I haven't had a couchsurfing experience, but I am willing to do it soon!

The followings are some of my favorite movies, music, and books: Truffaut's Day for Night, Linklater's "Before" series, most of films Seth Rogen appears on, Godard's Contempt, and most of Mamoru Hosoi's films; jazz, electronica, baroque, and contemporary classical; Junichiro Tanizaki, Nabokov, Evelyn Waugh, and Emile Zola.
