About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Life is too short not to experience all one can. Traveling teaches one more than imagined. I love cultural exchange and seek to learn from others. I can be spontaneous and am not afraid to try something new.
ABOUT ME
I graduated from grad school a couple of years ago and am looking to explore new places and planto move to New York City in 2020. I enjoy meeting different people and learning about other cultures, even those within my own country. Life has previously prevented me from traveling much, but I would like to change that.
PHILOSOPHY
I am a humanist and believe that reason and compassion should dictate our world views. Life is too short to hold grudges and not take time to appreciate the beauty life offers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I set up my account some time ago. I am finally beginning to utilize it. Right now, I am only surfing but hope to have a couch available in the summer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am new to CouchSurfing and anxious to participate. I hope to meet many new people.
Interests
I enjoy studying history, of course. I also have an English degree and love literature, especially the classics and cannot imagine life without books. I love many types of cuisine and am partial to spicy dishes. While I enjoy many types of music, classical is my favorite. Life would not be the same without coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books
Classic literature, history, and philosophy books are my favorites. I have a Kindle and use it regularly but still have a library of over 1500 books. My favorite fiction book is "The Count of Monte Cristo."
I love old movies as well. TCM is the channel I miss most since dropping cable TV. "Casablanca" is my all-time favorite.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have taught middle school and survived!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught history and English at the secondary and collegiate levels. I have taught government, economics, and ethics in college as well. I am anxious to learn from others and their cultures. As I have gotten older, I have become more open-minded and appreciative. I look forward to meeting new people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Thanks to my parents, I am handy around the house. I cannot fix anything but am good at housekeeping. While my culinary skills are limited, I am a master of cleaning the kitchen. I am also well-read and ready to engage in good conversation. I am adventurous and willing to try new experiences.
