Overview
About Me
I grew up in a small village in Terengganu, Malaysia, and all I wanted was to explore what's beyond the 7-minute drive to my grandma's. That mindset set me on my whirlwind path in the past few years.
I moved to Malacca (another state on the other side of the Malaysian peninsula) for boarding school for 5 years, spent 2 years living in Llantwit Major (Wales, UK) for pre-university and currently spending 4 years in Rhode Island,USA for uni (plus maybe another year for Master's). In between , I've managed to squeeze in trips to 16 countries (proudly almost none with my parents' help).
I'd say friendly, adventurous, and curious are my most noticeable traits. I love sharing experiences, and food. I think the most important lesson I learnt throughout my travels is to not plan too much. I realized that the best part of a trip is when I find places or things I didn't know existed. This is why I think Couchsurfing is the best way to go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bought a one-way flight to Bangkok, solo-travelled down the sketchy (and conflict-heavy) Thai East Coast back to Malaysia in two and a half weeks.
Spent 3 weeks in 3 different villages in Ratanakiri, Cambodia to teach underprivileged children basic educational skills.
Solo-travelled across United States in 24 days: Started in Providence, toured Chicago, took the California Zephyr to San Francisco, crashed a friend's place in Marin County (SF), chilled for a week in Seattle, flew to Juneau (Alaska) before taking a ferry up to Haines, crossed to Canada for skiing, brief ferry stop in Skagway, and made it back to Boston via Utah during the 2016 blizzard in one piece.
