I have many passions, but my longest standing love affairs are with writing and science. This probably explains why I decided to go to graduate school for Science Journalism. Makes sense, right?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just moved to Boston in September, so I'm not terribly familiar with the area. If you want to meet an expert, I'm probably not the person to contact.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a couple of people via a Couchsurfing friend of mine in Washington, and I met with some Couchsurfers in Chile who took me around Santiago. What a wonderful night! We had so much fun exploring the city after dark.

My experience with Couchsurfing has always been positive. I'm only sorry I've been away from it for so long (coming back from a two year hiatus).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Peru, I traveled to the Amazon with a guide during the wet season. We paddled up and down the tributaries just looking for wildlife. I saw a sloth move towards the water, a baby caiman, monkeys, pink river dolphins (twice!), and so many other amazing things! I had been wanted to go to the Amazon since fourth grade, and I can't believe I finally made it happen. The whole trip was magical.
