Hey greetings to any traveller who surfs through my page!

It's Hoan here and these are some things you might want to know about me:

- I'm Vietnamese. I've been living (or I had lived) in Vietnam for 24 years, 18 years in my hometown called Nam Dinh, 6 years in Hanoi.

- I'm gay. Better to tell even though I know it's unfair that straight people don't have to come out. This is still a big corner of me that many people haven't got to know about yet. But I assume once you are a global traveller, you are more open-minded and more educated on this.

- I'm living and working in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Been here for about 1.5 years and I do love this city. I can speak some Thai also.

- I'm an NGO worker. I used to work for an organization doing anti-coal campaigns and clean energy advocacy in Vietnam. Now I'm working for an INGO on environmental and human rights issues. I enjoy what I'm doing even though sometimes it also has its own dark side in this sector.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first heard about CS in 2013. Immediately, I loved the concept of helping people to see more of the world on a realistic budget. CS opened many doors, taught me about so many things and encouraged me to travel.

Interests

I'm a football player and a badminton player. Wanna join me and my friends for a match?

Oh and I strongly support Liverpool FC! Been cheering them for 14 years and this love will just never change.

I like Jazz. I could bring you to some cool Jazz clubs in Chiang Mai if you are also interested!
