ABOUT ME
I'm Holger a software developer from Berlin and am interested in cultures, stories and people from all over the world.
Berlin is becoming quite the international capital of Europe and I really like how this influences the whole city. If you want to experience that, drop me a line.
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe Diem. Few of the greatest things in my live have happened because I planned for them, random encounters turned out to be much more influential than school, studying, etc ...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I read the book "Couch Surfing in Iran" from Stefan Orth and thought I would like to do something like this on my next trip to the United States. It will be my first time in the states and I would really rather spend my time with locals to learn the lingo, the places they go and how live there is really instead of sitting in a hotel room that could be anywhere in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite Books: I like Stephen King's novels, because his language is so very american, The Wind-up Girl by Bacgalupi because of its dark but realistic vision of the future, Jo Nesbo's Harry Hole books because they are so goddammed intense and the occasional trashy romance novel.
Favorite Series: All the great american series like Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Big Bang Theory, How I met your mother, Shameless, additionally the great danish series (yes they have an awesome director at their state television station) The Killing (Forbrydelsen) and Borgen and recently I finally found my first great German Series "Weissensee"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teaching my daughter baby sign language (we were able to communicate at 9 months already so she never had to cry a lot, that was awesome!)
Teach, Learn, Share
Coding, Reading science papers, drawing properly on a flipchart, german grammar, danish pronounciation madness (tre becomes tra when suffixes are added, come on!), ...
