About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Our Mission: Get Back To Being Awesome

ABOUT ME

All about us?! Jason is Mr. Outdoors and I am well...kind of NOT. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the outdoorsy folk, but he has spent a good chunk of his life fishing, camping and hiking while I really never have.

A few years ago, we met in a shitty little Northern Michigan town and Jason told me about this grand adventure that he was planning on. He had saved up for a few years, was going to move out of his apartment, sell all of his junk and pack his bare necessities into a 1993 Ford Ranger and see where the road took him. I thought he was crazy.
A few weeks before his scheduled departure, I said, "Why not?" and invited myself to tag along. Quit my job, sold my furniture and we lit out of town for two whole months. It was a trip of a lifetime packed with camping, alcohol, fishing, debauchery and all kids of fun stuff in between.
We headed back up to Michigan for a wedding and decided to work through the summer and head South for the winter on another adventure. We made it to Florida in December of 2010 and just kind of stayed. We traded our tents and sleeping bags in for a nice apartment with air conditioning and big comfy beds. We packed strapped on our fancy shoes and got big-kid jobs. It was FANTASTIC. For a little bit.
After almost two years of working (and partying) hard, we have decided to sell off all of our stuff AGAIN and hit the road. We don't know when or where we will be going but we're on our way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

On our first trip, we couldn't host (obviously) but we surfed once in Oceanside, CA and our host was amazing :) On our second mini-trip, we were hosted by some college kids out of Gainesville, FL and I will never forget it.
We opened up our couch for hosting once we got one, but nobody requested :(

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Alex in California was fantastic! He offered to be our designated driver for a night out on the town, bought us a few drinks and even hosted a little hangover movie marathon the next day :)

The kids from Gainesville were a group of really great folks. Kathy and Joseph were hilarious and Jason won't ever forget that birthday party...even if he wanted to :)

So far, we have really enjoyed meeting new people and sharing our mild retardations with the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Big Lebowski, Step Brothers, Role Models, anything funny or borderline retarded (just as long as they don't go full-retard).

Music, I am open to mostly anything. I sing and play a few instruments and find a great creative outlet in doing so. But when people start going into how a certain band or genre is superior or life-changing, I start to get annoyed. Music is supposed to be a fun, recreational thing and some people just take it too far and make it unpleasant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have some amazingly hilarious stories that would take up entirely too much space here. We look forward to sharing them with our surfers!
