ABOUT ME

My name is Holly, im actually 17 but am looking to beguin coach surfing as soon as i turn 18 so thought i would become a member now to arrange plans for my gap year! I believe all we really need is air, food and good company, i wouldn't struggle to live without material goods but feel blessed to have been in a situation growing up to have so much.

Im constantly described as a control freak and a natural born leader, and although id love to travel as freely as possible, i know for an 18 year old girl travelling alone a certain degree ofcontrol over where i am, when and who im with is essential which is why i think couchsurfing is well suited to me! it seems the perfect compromise between spontaneity and organisation.

PHILOSOPHY

"When i dare to be powerful, to use my strength in service of my vision, it becomes less and less important if i am afraid."

This is particularly important to me because when i was still only around 8 or 9 i made a snap decision that i wanted to be a more outgoing person, i knew if i pretended to be confident for long enough, eventually it would come naturally to me, and it has, im the most fearless person i know, and ill always remember that i can have anything, and be anyone i want if i take a risk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The 3 best moments of my life would be seeing thunder storm from above the clouds, im a nerd for interesting geography! Laying on rocks at the bottom of a waterfall in Yosemite and seeing my mum give birth to my little brother.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach English, i have classroom teaching experience as well as volunteer hours.

I have also regularly taught leadership before. Which although it may sound quite vague is just the teaching of self confidence and independency, good leaders create more leaders not more followers.

I am up for learning ANYTHING from a trade to surfing, to how to milk a goat and how to braid hair! i really am open to anything.
