Though I currently base myself out of the Los Angeles area, I was born and raised on a small cow farm near Jackson, Mississippi. I recently graduated from UCLA with a BS in Biology. During my undergraduate, I split my focus between animal nutrition research and conservation. I traveled a lot during winter/summer breaks and used couchsurfing to broaden the small scope of life I had growing up in such a rural area.

Now that I've graduated, I'm spending time to decide which direction I would like to take my life in. I am free for the first time in seven years! :) So far, I have spent this time working on an artichoke farm in Sicily. I hope to soon attempt to get my Master's in Environmental Journalism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can't tell you how many truly authentic experiences I have had thanks to this website. I have traveled with and without it, and most definitely always prefer to use it. I love being able to laugh with another person about our similarities and differences. Even when I host, I love being able to show my favorite parts of my city with another person. It's like sharing a favorite movie or song with a friend, and it has never stopped making me happy.

Interests

I'm big on sight-seeing! Mountains, rivers, lakes, deserts, forests - anything outside! I appreciate architecture and big cities. I really like art museums, and I love music (especially experimental). Not too big on clubs; sit me down in a dive bar with a pool table and a jukebox and I'm in heaven, though.
