Hello, fellow couchsurfers.

My name is Hooman, yes that's how your pet calls you if you own one; I am a 25-year-old guy who is trying to make it as a successful tour guide who also likes to vlog for his youtube channel (when I run one). I am originally from Shiraz, Iran, but I am an MA student in Hamedan, Iran. I am currently living in my hometown because I had to take a full semester off. I have been teaching English for almost 6 years. Helping people always makes me feel good because it makes me feel that I actually am doing something that matters.

I have been a member here since 2012 but I never really have hosted anyone because I don't have my own place (still don't). However, I hang out with the people visiting my city, give them tours and try and learn about their culture whether or not they are from Iran, which I think has been one of my top favorite experiences. I am currently am studying tourism alongside my MA program which makes it more exciting for me to inform people visiting my city about its history and its culture. English is my foreign language but I speak it fluently. (been told that I have an American accent by a lot of people since I started learning/acquiring English very young.) I have made a lot of friends from all over the world playing online games, mostly people from the Netherlands. And that is why I am learning Dutch now and frankly, I like Dutch or as how they call it, Nederlands. (Ik ben Nederlands aan het leren :) )

I guess that's all I can think of right now to write about myself here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am thinking of making a career out of tourism since my country has a good potential in this matter. So, yeah I would like to give tours of my city and learn about the culture of people who are visiting.
