ABOUT ME

I was born in England and moved from Manchester to Belfast (N. Ireland) and then to Northampton (England). I went to university in London and then worked in London for a few years before traveling through Asia to Australia. I lived in Sydney for almost two years and while living there, visited New Zealand twice. After leaving Australia in the late 80's, I stopped in French Polynesia for a while and finished up in Los Angeles where I have lived for 20 years. While in LA, I got my Master's Degree and started teaching. The recent economic global crises resulted in me becoming unemployed, so I came to China to teach here. I have been out of the loop for 3-4 months but recently I moved to Zhuhai in Guangdong Province.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couch surfing. I want to meet other members, either by having them visit me, or by me visiting them and their home towns/countries.

兴趣

Traveling (obviously). Learning new things. Meeting people. Movies. Reading. Driving (in the past I have raced cars). Riding my bikes. Living outside the mainstream and not being part of the rat-race.

Movies - thought provoking rather than blockbusters. I used to work for Warner Bros and Dreamworks, but prefer smart screenplays rather than big stars.
Books - Most recent read was War And Peace. Prefer non-fiction to be frank.

Errrr...Well the most exciting things I've ever done involve racing a car (the ultimate rush and the ultiimate Zen experience because you and car are one! Corny, huh?) and skiing (for the rush). I'm sure there are other things and I will add them as they pop into my mind.

Do I want to learn? Of course I want to learn. I can teach you about the surface of the planet - how it got to be the way it is - and how climate operates. If you want to kn ow about the make-up of the earth as a planet, then I can help. I can even dispense my personal philosophy, if anyone is interested. I can teach you why Manchester United is the greatest sports team in the world. What can you teach me? Hopefully, how to be a better person. I want to learn.
