ABOUT ME
I am an eccentric, authentic woman of wonder and fun. I am interested in meeting curious and brilliant souls to share human moments.
"Life is too small a container for certain individuals. Some of them, such as Alobar, huff and puff and try to expand the container. Others, such as Kudra, seek to pry the lid off and hop out."
-Tom Robbins, Jitterbug Perfume
PHILOSOPHY
jest bee. think about it. feel it.

"The worst thing that could possibly happen to anybody would be to not be used for anything by anybody."
Kurt Vonnegut, Sirens of Titan
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I first started on Couchsurfing I had a sweet apartment all to myself and a full-time job that seriously constricted my opportunities to be the surfer. I relished the role of surfee. There is something so magical about sharing your hometown experience with an unknown friend. I love finding the best music happening in the city, and picking out the perfect restaurant to take them to, and maneuvering through the city to pass by my favorite street art, and recommending the quirky little spots to make the surfer's trip as rich as possible. But more than that I enjoy talking and learning about their life. Most all of my surfers have been very open people who genuinely want to share and learn and have a real human experience. It's delightful. I have been inspired, admired, fired-up, serenaded, sent into violent fits of laughter, enlightened, and just over-all brightened by these connections. Now, I am in a different phase of my life with no couch to share but much time to go explore and be the surfer. I look forward to many more amazing people to know through this great opportunity.
I am so very thankful for the universe conspiring to hand-deliver this much needed re-mixing of my life. Salut, my compadres–past, present, and future!
“I teach you the friend and his overflowing heart. But one must know how to be a sponge, if one would be loved by overflowing hearts.”

Music is the sustenance of my soul. The vibrations I love come in many degrees and flavor of great. These are some of the flavors that I especially love:
jazz; bluegrass; rock; folk; hip-hop; electronic; blues; dance; reggae; funk; soul...
but then those flavors had babies-- and I am in love with the whole family! One of the greatest gifts you can give me is a new song, a mystery musician, an album of previously undiscovered magnanimity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most adventurous thing I have done was on my trip to Guatemala 2014. I hiked through El Mirador on the spring equinox to explore the jungle and learn about the Mayan landscape. I had a most excellent guide and excellent peers to accompany me. Walking through the jungle was a beautiful and painful journey. There was just so much there; historically, botanically, and topographically. I have such deep positive feelings about my experience there - camping underneath the stars, climbing pyramids and meditating with drums, exploring the sites, getting to know new friends there in that magical space, pushing my body to keep walking through the pain, cooking in the jungle kitchens, resting in a hammock while Alex was fishing for dinner, trying to use my sonar to communicate with the jaguars, listening to the howler monkeys like a natural coo-coo clock, looking for obsidian, biking through Yaxha to Naranjo, all of these things are part of my awakening for adventure.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I am enthusiastic to share my positive attitude, jokes I've picked up along the way, recommendations for travel, musical interests, hula hooping pursuits, and I am always more than happy to cook a thoughtful meal. I love taking separate ingredients and melding them into something delicious, nutritious, and sometimes pretty to look at. I'll be honest though, I don't have professional culinary experience – I have learned through trial and error, internet research, and folk tales. I think that the physical and chemical processes of food preparation are very interesting, so I would be happy to bring a bottle of wine and talk about these processes while we make something together. Or just show me the kitchen and I'll let you know when dinner is :)
