Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined because my friend had hosted a couple of times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to the Nanchang CS meets when I was living and working there, and met with someone in Beijing when I was travelling around China.
CS is a great way to meet good people.
Through my friend in London, who has hosted more than me, I also made friends through CS.

Interests

I am very much into music, both listening and playing wherever possible. Also going to gigs, festivals and clubs is a large interest of mine.

I am interested in history, particularly modern Chinese.
I go running to try and be a bit healthy.

I like reading all sorts of books, and writing my own experiences down.
I play darts to a low standard, but enjoy it, love to travel and meet new people, go out have fun and experience as much as possible. When I am not doing that I watch films as much as I can.

Too numerous to mention, but here goes:

Music: Punk (old and new, Clash, Ramones, early Green Day, Rancid, Stranglers, Blink etc ), Ska (Specials, Madness, Reel Big Fish, Aggrolites etc), Dance (rave, drum & bass, trance, electronica, breaks, house. Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Plump Dj's, Basement Jaxx, Orbital, DJ Hype, James Lavell etc), Metal (Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC etc), Alternative/other (Editors, Nick Cave, Billy Bragg, the Pogues, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, Get Up Kids etc) Basically I like lots of music even some Pop!

I played a festival in East Germany to 10,000 people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am fairly clued up on (modern) Chinese history, but always willing to learn more....my Mandarin Chinese is getting better, I am understanding much more now....I can paint, tile and build a house (sort of) always willing to share, though perhaps this skill is not a great deal of use to those who sleep on sofas around the globe, still you never know!
