About Me

CURRENTLY TRAVELING!

MISSION

More travel, more work, more travel...

ABOUT ME

I'm the youngest 50+ year old you've met. I'll never know if it's the stuff I eat or lack of stress or genetics. I'm pretty much the same as I was 30 years ago, just a lot smarter. When I was a teenager, most of my friends were adults, and nowadays my friends are of every age.

I try to be economical with words. It's easy to get me to speak, i just prefer not to start. Offer up some 'food for thought' or ask a good Q, and we'll talk each others' ears off.

I have several jobs, you can find out more about me if you try. My favorite job is lecturer at the Medical School. My subject is called "Clinical Empathy". It's the job that pays the least, but I do have the feeling I'm doing something good...

Here's the book I managed to publish: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CLK5KXN

PHILOSOPHY
I live by the Golden Rule. And I don't demand anyone's respect; I strive to deserve it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted plenty of people, all OK, some better than others :)
Surfed first in India, and eventually in Greece, China, Germany, even around Czech Republic!

As a guest I try to leave no physical footprints; only nice metaphysical ones.

I'm not the best host in the world though. You can sleep here safe and sound and I'll help you as much as I can about Prague. But I might not have time to hang out. Don't take it personally!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Quite possibly the best thing that's ever happened to the internet, at least for travellers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of books. Favorite authors Calvino, Archer, Faulkner, Vonnegut.

There's always music on at my place. Constantly.

Movies= the ones that keep us guessing: Memento, Usual Suspects, or a heart-toucher like Shawshank, My Life as a Dog, courtroom dramas, psychointrigue, mockumentaries. Parodies like The Incredibles and This is Spinal Tap. I have to recommend "My name is Khan" - best film I've seen this year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Zazen meditation is probably the best thing I know how to do.

Many months of backpacking before the days of CS, or even internet!

Teach, Learn, Share

I bet I can learn something from you. And if you use your ears well, you might learn sth from me.

I can teach some finer points about body language and rhetoric, some esoteric stuff, some keyboard shortcuts, share my green tea. And I can explain most aspects of English grammar...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Listening and telling stories.
