ABOUT ME

I'm in full-time ministry and spend as much time as I can serving as a missionary outside of the U.S. I LOVE TO TRAVEL! And I've been blessed to have traveled to many of the great cities in the U.S. and over a dozen countries around the world. I've met so many interesting people throughout my journeys and look forward to meeting many more! Currently I'm working in Leogane, Haiti so I'm pretty grounded here until 2014.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started browsing around CS because my best buds and I love to travel though we're usually on a tight budget. So for now, I'm looking to surf. Lately, I'm out of the country more than I'm "home", but would love to be surfer, get to know people, and even though I may not always have my own house available for hosting, I have friends who might.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was perfect! My friend and I were excited but also quite curious about the idea. Our host met up with us, lounged on the beach for a while, took us out the next day for some of his favorite local adventures, and we treated him to lunch at one of his favorite (and ours now too) restaurants in the area before our (unfortunately required) departure. We seriously would have extended our stay just to spend more time with such an amazing host had our schedules allowed! If my future CS experiences are even half as great as this one, I will be one happy camper...er...surfer! :)

I lived in southern Africa for a year and a half. I could write a book filled with my incredible experiences there!!

If I reached the end of my life and had taught nothing of value to others, I would consider that a grave failure. The same would be true if I refuse to learn from and implement the knowledge I gain from those around me. I don't have a list of items that I have set out to teach the world, but I would hope others could observe my life and see that I am loving towards others and learn how they could also love better. I do not fit any particular mold. I am a conservative Christian who refused early on to live in a stereotypical cardboard box. Rather than being force-fed by any religious doctrine, I have searched out and lived out my beliefs by using my own mind and being led by my own heart and convictions. If you ask my closest friends, they will tell you that I practice what I preach as much as this feeble body is able while loving others and having strong friendships with those who have different beliefs and lifestyles. I have never been one to enjoy debating for the sake of debating, but I do find it healthy and enjoyable to learn why others believe the way they do. Anything I can learn from others to make me a better person, a positive contributor to society, and a strong witness for Christ is a plus!
