**I currently reside in Madison, Wisconsin in USA, but asking for information about Myanmar is welcome! To add some info here (as of 20/Nov/2024), it is technically possible to travel Myanmar as long as you stick with the main cities and tourist areas (Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Ngwe Saung, Kalaw, Taungyi). The regional cities/towns like Sagaing, Kalaw, Sittwe etc. as well as border cities are no longer advised to travel. Massive numbers of young people are leaving the country due to the conscription law by the Burmese military. Avoid going nearby military and police posts during your visit, as guerilla attacks by people's defence forces can happen place anytime. Check the below media for updated news written in English.
