The only thing that stops most people from spontaneous travelling is uncertainty of shelter for the night, if only I can provide that and receive that I can travel more and make the travels of others easier, cheaper and safer. Win-win.

I guess my favourite one is "Historia Polski: Średniowiecze" by Stanisław Szczur
...but Frank Herbert's "Dune" and books by Lem are fantastic, and so is "The Iliad"
