About Me

I'm a university student in my first year, recently moved from Canada to the UK. I love nature and hiking and exploring, both in nature and in cities. I love to meet new people and to talk about everything and anything, especially when it's something I don't know about. I also have great interest in anything related to technology, and how it will affect us in the future, especially the opportunities that the internet provide for things like couchsurfing and organising people around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to both explore and meet new people, and couchsurfing seems the perfect balance between the two. I really want to visit big cities and remote places, but staying in a hotel or hostel is a little too sterile and lonely, and I'd rather have someone who I can connect with in the place I'm visiting.

Interests

Politics, nature, philosophy, rock-climbing, hiking, reading, the internet, games, art, movies, food, cooking, gardening, and many more that I can't think of at the moment :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a very big reader, when I have the time, especially science fiction and fantasy. Recently I've been reading Neal Stevenson, China Mieville, and lots of Lovecraft.
Movie wise, I love anything made by Tarantino, as well as Pan's Labyrinth, and a bunch of Japanese movies.
I love just about all music, partly because of the variety that there is.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking in the Rockies. It was an amazing experience, both serene and beautiful and more difficult than I thought I could manage.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a fair amount of experience backpacking and hiking in the wilderness. I'm always looking for new people I might want to go travelling with. I'm also fairly tec savy, although I imagine most people on this site are as well. I love to learn, in a way it is my life goal, so I'm always looking for the new and exciting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a pretty good cook, if I do say so myself, as well as a good conversationalist. I've got a wide enough variety of interests that I can find common ground with just about anyone :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Germany, Italy, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In
