About Me

My name is Hugo. I am a student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and I am studying Political Science with a minor in Japanese. I was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and I moved to the United States when I was 2 years old. I am fluent in Spanish and English; I am also currently studying Japanese.

I recently studied abroad in Japan and found a love for traveling and sight-seeing. I'm looking at going to Law School once I am done with my undergraduate degree so this will be my last big adventure before then.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found out about Couchsurfing from a lot of friends that I met while I was studying abroad in Japan. My host dad also told me about his experiences traveling and that inspired me to take a chance while I am young and see the world through the eyes of more locals that want to share their cultures. I love meeting different people, so this would provide me with an opportunity to do just that.

Interests

My interests include traveling, soccer and learning about new cultures. I love trying new foods and taking pictures of the places that I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy listening to all generes of music. I'm not very picky, as long as it has a good beat and good lyrics I will probably like it.

As for movies, I like adventure, suspense and mystery movies the best. Despite this, I don't have a lot of time with school and work, so I'm not much of a movie person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the amazing opportunity of studying abroad for a semester in Osaka, Japan. I stayed with a great host family, emersed myself in the culture, and was able to travel all over the country. Best of all I was able to try all the amazing food!
