Mainly because of my interest in visiting Iran and meeting Iranians and of course speaking Farsi.

The ROLLING STONES (definitely my favorite band), and the 60s/70s rock'n'roll in general..., blues, charleston, boogie woogie...

As to movie, my favorite genre is good Sci-fi, ie. not Star Wars but movies like Another Earth, I Origins, Blade runner, Minority Report, Interstellar, Ex Machina, Wall-E... ie. movies that make you think days after you've watched them.

Regarding books i constantly come and go between history/politics and science or sci-fi again.
