ABOUT ME

I recently graduated from college with a BA in Politics, and spend most of my days thinking about political theory-- mostly Zizek and Fanon. Instead of being a smart person and get a job, I decided to go to Palestine (again) to teach English in the refugee camp I adore for the next 2 years. (enshallah) I adore learning Arabic from Dabkah and Palestinian rap music, learning how to cook (and eat!) new things, dancing like crazy, and listening to *your!* story.

PHILOSOPHY

Listen first, then listen again. Then repeat. Then ask. Then listen. When you return from your journey (whenever or wherever it might have been) reflect, and speak with pure words.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf and host because guidebooks are nothing compared to meeting a local person. Many of my CS experiences have led to lasting, very valuable relationships.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

hosting, surfing, meeting, and dancing in Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, USA, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and England. So many good memories and places I want to return to!

兴趣

Reading, Palestinian policial philosophy, dancing, cooking, traveling, meeting new friends, hiking, napping in the sun, learning languages, drinking tea, riding my road bike, playing with my dog Rufus, and listening to nerdy political podcasts.

Movies: The Artist, The Chorus, Despicable Me, Beauty and the Beast, most indie films. I really dislike television.
Music: Tallest Man on Earth, Fleet Foxes, MGMT, Horse Feathers, The Swedish Mafia, Agnus and Julia Stone, and much much much more. I love to dance (Ballet, Modern, in dance clubs and ballroom) so anything with a good beat is GREAT.

I am a pretty good apple-pie baker, and know a lot of games that help reinforce English vocabulary. I'd love to learn about your politics, and would leap at the chance to try a new thing! Although I have been in the Middle East for over a year, I have never ridden a camel-- a deep regret of mine. Let's find one!
