About Me

I am currently hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, and this the first ultra-distance hike I've ever done. I love travel, reading, talking to different people, and most of all food. I am generally quiet, although I do play the Native American flute, mouth harp, harmonica, and I also practice Tuvan throat singing and Western overtone singing, and I'll be happy to demonstrate any of them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a hiker and traveler, I sleep outside a lot. I love it, but from time to time it's good to have a warm shower, a roof over my head, and good people to socialize with. I hope to meet many surfer hosts and trail angels, of whom my experience with has been overwhelmingly positive.

Interests

I am poor, grew up poor, never known anything other than being poor. I thought that would prevent me from traveling and seeing the world. The thought of being stuck in a menial dead end job, making just enough to scrape by while a world of discovery and adventure awaits me makes me terribly uncomfortable. I am plagued by wanderlust and I am compelled to live a life of travel, survival, and ultimate freedom.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Giver, Foundation, Ender's Game, Artemis Awakening, Pandemoneium, Nimona
Essentially, I love fiction involving fantasy, sci-fi, and/or adventure themes. Dystopias are good too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived this long to tell my tale.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't understand the prompt. I like those words and what they represent to me, though. I have lived a pretty eventful life thus far, and so I feel I have a lot to teach. At any rate, I certainly have a lot to share from my wide array of experiences and memories, and I'm an open book so if people ask, I will always gladly share my experiences with them.
Also, there is no doubt that I still have much to learn. Aside from having many stories to tell, I also enjoy hearing a good story as well because I enjoy the narrative and what I can learn from it. I love when people share their experiences with me, it gives me a chance to expand my perspective.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always happy to share what I know with anyone who is interested. I am also always glad to share work with anyone who hosts me for a night. If I'm sleeping on your couch, you shouldn't also need to do my dishes or clean up after me.
