About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To figure 'it' out.

ABOUT ME

I am currently a student attending the University of Iowa's Joint Book Studies Program, from which I will receive a M.A. in Library and Information Sciences and a Certificate in Bookbinding. My dream is to have a job in book and paper conservation and my own small farm.

PHILOSOPHY

"Everything was beautiful..." Vonnegut, 'Slaughter-house Five'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Was kindly hosted for the first time in Cyprus and have since hosted a few people of my own here in Iowa City.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was with Ivan and was great! His roommates, Carrie and George, were so welcoming! They even took us to the sea (a good drive away)! We also had mentioned that we wanted to stay awhile and sub-let an apartment and Ivan happened to know a friend who was going out of town for 3 weeks. So we sub-let her place. We ended up getting along great with her roommate and by the time we left Cyprus we felt like we had such a great group of friends! It was so hard to leave! It was a great experience!

Interests

I just like doin' stuff. I'll try almost anything once. The world is a big'ol wide place and I always get excited when I think about how much there is out there to explore.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies are ones that make me laugh. I love Anchorman and About a Boy. I also think Arrested Development is the best thing that ever happened to T.V.
I have so many favorite books but I just discovered a new favorite author in John Banville. I've only read two of his works but have really enjoyed both.
'Confedaracy of Dunces' by John Kennedy Toole is my number one favorite book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the end of this most recent travels I spent a month working on an alpaca farm in France. I saw an alpaca give birth and helped nurse the little baby and also nursed a baby doe that was found injured in a truffle field! Looking back, it was one of the happiest times of my life and I would one day like to have an alpaca farm of my own.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to nerd out on book history and structure. So if you ever would like a broad overview of the history of the book, lemme know. Although, I understand if this is not your bag of chips.

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, South Korea, Turkey
