ABOUT ME

They'd say I have a lot of get up and go, that I'm a pretty good girl, and that I make pretty good cakes.

Oh, and they would say I'm compassionate - sometimes too much.

And I'd like to think that people would miss me a lot when I'm gone...

Just doing what I can - but I need to be honest with you - I can't help you if you don't have your own car and I can't promise I can be tour guide, I also can't recommend bus routes because I have never, nor do any I know ever used them... BUT, I can offer you a clean, safe, nice guest room. It's that simple... So if you have your own car, give me a holler...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, being a musician I have slept on a lot of strangers couches - in the back of my car - and in mansions - but never through couch surfing. I figure I have a lot nicer place than most of the situations I have been in before, so might as well make it a little easier for someone who's out there hard travelin'...

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm reading one of David Amram's books right now -

Not much time to read, but I listen to books while driving

I dig movies - ones that have unexpected twists

And I especially like a movie called Box of Moonlight - that guy who lives on the edge of the woods could have been me

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well - most recently (July, 2012) - playing in Okemah for Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday, singing back up with Melanie, her hugging me and it being flashed on the el grande jumbo tron for the masses, and hearing Judy Collins for the first time ever and hearing her stories about "Bobby"

Working with Bruce Springsteen - eating malted milk balls with Albert King - having a few songs written about me - standing on top of a volcano - walking in Kodachrome - being in Jemez Springs, New Mexico with my boyfriend and getting the first massage in my life...

Standing on stage in front of thousands or sitting in a room with only three people and being able to pull both those off

My life is too amazing on a daily basis to single out just one or two things -

Just being in the line of work I am allows this little pup to play with the big dogs.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lord have mercy, I have been there done that -

I could tell you a lot of things and try to teach you, but I have been around long enough to know that most times you have to learn it for yourself.

The key is to jump in and make mistakes, and try to learn from them... to not be scared...

The only thing that can happen is you might fail, and if so - so what??
