I'm a longtime resident of Houston, Texas and work for a large tech company as a consultant. While I spend all my work days in front of a computer, I LOVE to be active and get some gym time in, but especially like to get out and see the world. My favorite places to travel to are those that have lots of natural beauty and/or historical, cultural significance. One of my favorite places in mainland, US is Colorado for the awesome mountains and hiking opportunities. I also love visiting beaches and lakes with turquoise waters like those in the Caribbean or Switzerland or a deep rich blue like those in Hawaii. I love to sample various local cuisines and try out 'non-starbucks' coffee places! One of my hobbies is flying and I often find a local flight school when I'm traveling to go up and see the area from the air!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel solo to different locations and take in all the sights and the culture, it would be fun to also make new friends who can give me a local's perspective on the area! Are there some unique hidden gems in a city that only locals know about? What are the best non-tourist hole in the wall foodie spots? What's life like for a local living in these spot? These are the kinds of things I'd hope to learn from people I meet on Couchsurfing when I'm traveling to their place. For those coming to Houston, perhaps I can be a friendly local resource you can lean on for input on various things.

Too many to list but some movies include: Forrest Gump, Gladiator, Inception, Braveheart, The Matrix (only the first one), The Batman movies by Christopher Nolan, Dumb and Dumber, The Other Guys, Tropic Thunder.

TV Shows: At the top of the list HAS to be Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

LOVE Stand up comedy and currently my favorite is Bill Burr.

Music: A lot of 90s Rock/Alternative, Bob Marley, BB King, 50's big band style music like Michael Buble, Jack Johnson, etc.

As a long time resident of Houston I'm quite familiar with the city and know some good places to eat, etc and would be happy to share any of this info with new visitors to Houston. In the not too distant future I may be able to offer a couch to those visiting Houston. For now I'm willing to meet up with people to hangout!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an easy going person who loves to get out and DO things. I'm very comfortable doing things on my own but a group activity checking out something new, whether it's a great place to eat, or a landmark can be fun. Perhaps there's a 'touristy' activity someone has been wanting to do but wants some company, or a music venue or comedy club they've been wanting to checkout and don't want to go alone. I would just like to meet some friends to hang out and see the city with as time permits.
