About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cast myself towards infinity (trust me I have my reasons)

ABOUT ME

I wrote the below when I was 20 years old, I will leave it here as things haven't changed that much!

I just want to see and experience and learn about as much of the world as I can. Past, future, present. I am a vegetarian and a pacifist. I am an easy going guy who enjoys exploring the culture and history of places as well as meeting the people and sampling the night life. I like doing spontaneous things and trying to push myself to view the world in different ways (as well as from different places). I love reading, watching, listening, cooking, eating and all the other things that make life worthwhile.

PHILOSOPHY

Cant believe how strange it is to be anything at all...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I do not participate but once I move back to London I will definitely try and get involved more, especially with exciting spur-of-the-moment outings; even more especially if it involves exploring abandoned interesting buildings or areas, or just doing something exhilarating and life affirming late at night.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I currently have no experience with couchsurfing but hopefully that will change very soon.

Interests

Appreciating every moment of life, especially the everyday, mundane realities. Spending warm sunny days indoors. Being-in-the-world. The history of humanity and its cultures, civilizations and developments from 100,000 years ago to today. The starry sky above me and the moral law within me. Late night rain. Late night conversations. Late night walks. Late night anything. Travelling and how the thought of travelling makes me feel. The concepts of mono-no-aware and wabi-sabi. Minimalism. Maximalism. Paradoxes and contradictions. The 3am eternal moment. Awe-inspiring views, images, stories. Reading the news. Ignoring the news. Lacrimae rerum. The unbearable lightness of being. Sleeping in a distant city far from home. Wanting to be in a Wong Kar-wai film. Spending days idling outside cafes. Having romantic visions and ideas about everything to come in your life. Dreams. Nostalgia. Saudade. If you've read this far maybe you feel the same way, or just think I sound like a pretentious twonk..
