Music, Movies, and Books
Too much to list all here!
Well, a couple of books I'm reading at the moment, that I recommend, are The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow; a monography on Hildegard Von Bingen which explains miniatures related to her visions. Regarding narrative, I'm very much into James Joyce, Jorge Luís Borges, Dino Buzzati and Philip K. Dick among others. On my list of books to read in the future are, among many others: Pauline Oliveros, Deep Listening; Ocean Vuong, On Earth we're briefly gorgeous; Entangled Life, Merlin Sheldrake; Thomas Mann, the Magic Mountain.
Music: I'm an absolute omnivore, from jazz to techno to cumbia to crazy niche noise stuff to (some) mainstream pop. In my opinion there's a right moment for each sound. My imprinting in early adolescence has been with the Beatles and Italian songwriters, but I never stopped exploring... Lately I'm listening to a lot of ambient and experimental electronic music, but my playlist goes seamlessly through all genres.
Movies: I watch too little, never have enough time. For the same problem of time, I never watch series. Please recommend good recent ones though, you never know!
I crave discovering new food for the brain and I'll probably ask you to recommend your favorite artists, records, authors and movies :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lots and lots of anecdotes about living abroad and making art exhibitions around the world. Some examples: I've restored a sculpture made of cigarettes; I've worked on a performance involving explosions in the ancient Pompeii amphitheater; I have induced 70 drunk people to talk about philosophical issues together for a whole night...
Teach, Learn, Share
I strongly believe that everyone can be a teacher as well as a learner.
I’m working in the contemporary art world at high level and I'm quite knowledgeable about museums, galleries, artist studios and the likes. I can teach you a lot about how that world works, it if you’re interested. I also would love to share ideas about the role of art and artists in social practices. I strongly believe that art should be regarded as a catalyst for change, rather than a luxurious commodity.
I’m learning to play guitar and love to discover new music of all kinds. I’m always open to learn about new arts and crafts techniques, for example ceramics, woodworking, and printing techniques.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm happy to cook together, have deep conversations about all aspects of life. Would love to make art and music together if the circumstances allow. And I can also read tarot and astrological birth charts for those who are interested :)
