About Me

I'm a recent graduate from university. I have worked at Canada's national newspaper for two summers as an editor. I have been to the United States many times, travelled to Europe three times, and all three times I went to Germany where my family is from.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people in the places I go! I last used Couchsurfing in 2013, with two different friends and we stayed with about eight different hosts in Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, Krakow, Venice and London.

I would love to be a host but I am currently moving between cities in Canada and don't have a place to offer right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked Europe with a friend in 2013, traveling to 14 countries in 2.5 months. About half the trip was with couchsurfers and family, and the other half in hostels. And there may have been a few nights sleeping outside in whatever place I was (some planned, some unplanned).

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of thoughts on journalism and media.

I read too many productivity/self-development books and blogs than is healthy.

I can talk soccer (football) or tennis all day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories from backpacking around 14 countries in Europe (15 if you count the Vatican).

Stories from my time being editor-in-chief of a university student newspaper and all the craziness that entailed.

I once reported on rallies with Barack Obama and Donald Trump within 12 hours of each other during the 2016 campaign, so that was an interesting juxtaposition.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada
