About Me
Might just have to write the abridged version 'about me' for now...maybe you can come visit and I'll tell you more. I grew up in Vancouver but I like to think my back yard was the entire south coast, even up to the Okanagan. So this land is in my blood. Pretty nomadic through my twenties and into early thirties...travelling and working seasonal bush work treeplanting and sea kayak guiding. Then I found myself living on my boat with a bunch of wharf rats and realised that's not where I wanted to end up when I was 60 so I lit a fire under my ass and sailed over to Gabriola to learn timber framing for two months...
That was 13 years ago. I sold the boat, bought some land, put down roots and built a timber post and beam house, created a garden that feeds me mostly and made lots of friends.
I'm beginning to understand what they mean by a mid-life crisis! Maybe crisis is a bit severe but it marks a point in life that gives us the opportunity to reflect on where we've come from and where it is we want to be going. To re-evaluate our priorities. So this is where I happily am in life now. Working with plant medicine, reacquainting with the spirit, finding much less value in things and true value in relationships and experience.
