I'm a bit of a nerd with a fondness for video games, gadgets, and programming. After a childhood influenced by Japanese culture and media, I studied abroad for a year during my junior year of college. There, I received a more intimate, first-hand knowledge of the culture, the food, and the language and gained a greater appreciation for Japan, warts and all.

I was convinced I'd move to Japan after graduating from college, but recent professional experience working with Japanese businesses convinced me that vacationing to Japan would be a more rewarding plan going forward. Now my goal is to make it over once or twice a year to recharge my 日本電池 (for lack of a better term...)

I studied abroad in the Musashino area and so I'm pretty familiar with metropolitan Tokyo. I know there's so much more to the Japan, though, and so I'm hoping to explore more of the the country, meet the locals, and find experiences off the beaten path.
