Overview
About Me
I'm an English teacher living in China right now, taking a few years off before I go back home for graduate school. I studied history in college with a focus on modern China. I'm pretty relaxed and low-key guy, and I can get along with just about anybody.
Live and let live.
I enjoy speaking with people from different cultures and learning about their lives, and I hope that I can share something about my culture as well. I like to learn the history of the people and places that I visit. I will also continuously drop random history facts and "did you knows." I also can get passionate talking about politics, but I promise that I won't get angry about it haha.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To make new friends and travel to new places.
Interests
I also love being outside, I frequently go hiking, camping, and I ride my bike all the time. I also love skiing, though the mountains around me aren't particularly great. I like watching and playing soccer (Glory Glory Man United!). I also play both piano and guitar and enjoy playing them with other people. Eating also gets me way more excited than it probably should. I find languages to be really interesting, and I hope to pick up learning a few more over the next few years.
I'm particularly interested in hearing different perspectives from people on just about everything. I just like learning new things in general, no matter what they are.

I like pretty much all music, but I mostly listen to classic and indie rock. Favorite bands are The Beatles and Arcade Fire. I'll also sing show tunes with you.
My favorite movies are Goodfellas and American Beauty. I'm also a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki films.
I mostly read nonfiction books, but my favorite fiction books are Fahrenheit 451 and the Dark Tower series.
