About Me

I just spent 18 months living in Bangkok, Thailand and go to travel to many places in the meantime! I love to travel, i love to experience new things and i keep an open mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being able to provide good hospitality to anyone brings me great joy, and knowing that I can help someone explore a new city on the cheap while learning something new in the process is just a win-win situation. I also want to be able to return the favor to Couchsurfing as I myself begin to adventure through new cities such as Austin, Portland, and Denver! they are all places on my list to check out.

Interests

- I play the guitar and sing all the time

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was once sitting at my lonely table drinking some French pressed coffee while in deep thought mode inside the barren walls of my Kalamazoo apartment when I had the impulse to see the sunset in South Haven, MI. So without even checking the air in the tires of my mountain bike I rode 40+ miles from my doorstep in Kzoo to the shore of Lake Michigan with only the contents of my backpack and a pillow. The ride was long and I did not arrive to my destination until well after the sun had sunken deep beneath the lake. So I stumbled into a gas station and bought the most delicious bottle of lemon-lime gatorade I have ever had to this day and enjoyed some snacks on the water before getting some much needed sleep on the beach. The next day I was rescued by some friends who conveniently had plans (independent of me) to visit the beach and catch some rays.

I can't say that I've made too many impulsive decisions like that since then, but departing from the comfort of your home with no real idea of where you are going to sleep that night is a feeling unlike any other. Writing about it - even now, 4 years later - makes me want to do it again!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My home is yours for as long as you are welcome to stay. I'm sure that I will have a few clean towels to spare as well as blankets if necessary and I keep the fridge stocked as well as I can so don't be afraid to help yourself. I currently only have one key to my apartment but coming and going shouldn't be a problem.
