Hello! My name is Ian (as I'm sure you already gathered).
I'm currently a student at Wesleyan University studying Film, Physics, and Writing I was born and raised in the Northwest US (Portland, Boise, and Seattle at different times)
I love culture and art, particularly film and music. Most of my time goes into researching, creating, or appreciating art these days.
I have a strong interest in other cultures which led me to take a gap year where I backpacked through South America and Europe.
I also love the outdoors having been raised in one of the most "wild" places left in the United States (Idaho is underrated, I promise!). Though I haven't had as much time for backpacking while I've been at university, it is one of my favorite hobbies.
I'm a big soccer fan and follow the German National Team and Arsenal (sorry if you're a Chelsea fan; I won't hold it against you). I also love to play soccer and play as a right fullback.
I'm generally a very friendly, open minded, and easy-going person. I love talking to people and hearing their stories and backgrounds. I have a love of intellectual pursuits but like to think of myself as not too uptight or pretentious!
I guess that's me in a small, concise nutshell. Hopefully we will get to know each other more.

As a student currently looking for places to stay as I travel during the summer. Stayed with a variety of hosts when I was traveling through Europe and South American and came to really appreciate the experience as it is a great way to meet people and see a side of place that would otherwise be impossible. Also as a student with loans (oy vey!) keeping costs down is ideal.
