About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Currently, being new to this, I have no mission.
ABOUT ME
I am a retired maths teacher (about to retire at least) and have always been interested in all things social, political, international. I like words and, obviously, travelling, so other cultures than my own.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to understand myself, others, cultures and otherwise just enjoy a cup of good coffee and a good book.
Interests
I spend my time reading; exercising with walking, swimming, yoga, cycling; learning about the world (issues of teaching interest me) and its cultures, languages and peoples.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've seen a lot of films in my life and remember just a few. Secretly, I am quite emotional and a good film will often make me crumble, if it doesn't make me cross.
I love music of different genres including acapello singing such as Swingle singers and also classical music as much as heavy metal. So make of that what you will.
Books that allow my mind to wander far away from where I am and live into foreign fields, classes, homes, cultures. Of course, Scandanavian crime stories (in particular I like Karin Fossum and Indridasson) and psycho-dramas. Also books about people that explain how they think and feel so that I can share that sense of their lives.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Witnessing my son being born. Nothing else really compares. I think taking off on a plane is amazing (and landing - hopefully). I suppose all my 'first experiences' were, for me, amazing. Travelling abroad has always excited me. I've enjoyed travelling to Berlin, the fjords in Norway and former Yugoslavia, Villages in Greece, Expanses of USA and Canada.
