ABOUT ME

I'm a photographer based in Toronto. I have traveled extensively throughout South America, Asia and across Europe and have been fortunate to have worked for NGO's in Africa and Colombia doing photo projects. I live in Toronto and a have a beautiful 4 year old girl. I'm easy going and love to meet new people and share in their experiences. As a photographer I have the privilege of being able to share and meet some amazing people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

With couchsurfing.com, this is all new. Informally, I've likely slept on as many couches as beds over my lifetime. I rode my bike across Canada and camped and couch surfed equal time..have spent time in Africa, S. America and doing ski trips out in Western N. america living on the couch. So...I'm pretty familiar.

Interests

I live in Toronto, which is an amazing and vibrant city. I've been fortunate to travel loads and love the wonder of exploring.
I've been doing a project over the last few years of portraits of Americans; www.americandreamsproject.org : it's a collection of portraits of American's from all across the country. In addition each person is asked to write down, in their own words and handwriting, whatever their own "American Dream" is. The finished project will be published and exhibited across the country. It's free and open to anyone and I'm always looking for new people to participate. Drop me a line if your interested!

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of stuff. I Like most everything…..currently on the iPod most played is some new stuff from Volcano Choir, Siguor Ros, and some Arcade Fire - but I'm into pretty much everything -

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the best part of travelling is that after realizing your always going to find a place (or couch!) and some food, the rest of the day is left to wander and explore and allow moments to reveal themselves. As everyone knows who travels it's these moments that become addictive and keep us wanting to get out there and find more of these.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Im a dad first and foremost - so I have a good sense of purpose. Also being a photographer has provided me with some pretty amazing experiences meeting people. I am a good storyteller and better listener. Being Canadian also means I'm inherently polite and well mannered and also possess a good sense of humour.
