About Me

ABOUT ME

We are a couple who have raised three children, now adults, and have three grandchildren. Janet is a retired RN, and I own a restaurant equipment company here in Miami. We like to meet new people from around the world, and learn about how they live, and what they enjoy in life. We did extensive backpacking when we were younger, and enjoy camping and canoeing. Our passion includes tropical plants, and our yard reflects this interest.

PHILOSOPHY

Be Here Now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our experience with Couchsurfing has been quite positive, and we have met upbeat and adventurous people. I believe in the concept. I find it a heartening sign that people are willing to open up their homes, and lives, to almost complete strangers. the more community there is in our world, the more hope we have for our children and children's children. Today's suburbs have eroded society tremendously since the time I was a child. Video games and concerns for child safety have diminished our neighborhoods as playgrounds for youth. Perhaps, in this case, the internet can begin to build a new sense of a cohesive society.

Interests

Reading, art, photography, music, VW buses and travel in them, antique cars, canoeing, wilderness areas, the Everglades, gardening, cooking and the ideas of good food and new eating experiences, exercise, the theory and ideas of Martin Buber, making your life better through constant change and awareness of options. Positive, caring people, who help make our stay here better. Certainly, much more.
