Around the World in ??? Days!!

ABOUT ME

Well.. I am a 22 year old who just graduated from college. Currently staring at the blank slate that is the rest of my life! I enjoy traveling and being in the outdoors. I also, though, love movies and music. My favorite nights are those spent with a handful of friends, a handful of beers, and tunes. I like playing the guitar, downhill skiing, swimming, canoeing, and meeting new people. I have a strong desire to see the world, and have made a few attempts to do so far, having been to Ecuador, Italy, Ireland, Canada, and Mexico. My dream is to save up some money and travel around the world through CouchSurfing and the World Wide Organization of Organic Farmers (WWOOF).

I'm real easy to get along with, and am really excited about getting the chance to meet anyone who will let me crash on their couch!!

Yikes! I guess I'm still trying to figure this one out. I've found that surrounding yourself with people that truly care for you will help you weather the storms and more thoroughly enjoy the times when times are good!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well I have no CouchSurfing experience through this website.. I guess the only real couch surfing experience I have is crashing at my friends' places throughout my college years...

Interests

I think I covered this in my 'About Me' section. I really do like trying new things, and am willing to learn things I don't know how to do

I have enjoyed my occupations so far in my life - working as a Day Camp Counselor for a few years, a Wilderness Guide for the YMCA Camp Menogyn in the Boundary Waters in MN, and a volunteer Wilderness District Ranger for North Cascades National Park.

Music, Movies, and Books

So I won't go on and on with big long lists of names. But for movies: Good Will Hunting, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Daniel Day Lewis is my favorite actor, Audrey Hepburn my favorite actress. Music: tons, not so into country though. Rage Against the Machine and Atmosphere are my favorite bands, I listen most often to Hip-Hop. Lately I've been into Wilco. For books, Huckleberry Finn, and authors Dennis Lehane and Kurt Vonnegut always keep me interested.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing: climbing the summit of Sahale Mountain while working as volunteer ranger at North Cascades National Park in the summer of 2008.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, by the time I start surfing, I will have finished my degree in Recreation Resources Management. It's basically public land management with stresses on managing resources, generally forests. I would love to learn how people are managing their own resources in their communities around the globe!
