About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cycling from the UK to South Africa

ABOUT ME

Born in England with Southern African parents, always felt a pull towards Africa as a result. Other main ambition in life was to become a vet, something I managed two years ago. Hopefully the bike ride will combine the two, with some charity work thrown in as I go.

PHILOSOPHY

Pretty liberal, fairly laid-back

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Only just discovered Couch Surfing so haven't had the opportunity to host yet. Have been a member of Warm Showers (think CS for touring cyclists) for the last couple of years and have hosted several people through that - my home in Herefordshire was near the Lands End to John O'Groats cycling route. Looking forward to meeting interesting people around the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First experience just now when I was rescued from the street by Rob in Dover after my knees gave out on me during a cycle tour.

Interests

Sports (especially running, cycling, rowing, formula 1, rugby and cricket - the last three mostly just watching), reading anything, music (pretty eclectic from classical to classic rock), travelling
